The Spare Time StuffMuch of Mark’s spare time is taken up with recording his own music in his home studio, made possible by Apple Mac technology and an unhealthy intake of coffee. He’s a self-confessed borderline-obsessive Beatles fan who also loves the music of Paul Weller. Having grown up in Anfield it’s hardly surprising that Mark has been an avid Liverpool FC fan since the early 1970s and was once deputy editor of the club’s award-winning matchday magazine. Mark’s football writing has also appeared in programmes for FA Cup finals, England internationals and Fifa World Cup tournament guides. He also enjoys cycling, photography and travel. Mark’s list of favourite places include the Seychelles, Mauritius, Goa, Sweden, Norway, Cephalonia, San Francisco, Brooklyn and San Sebastián.
The Brainy BitsMark has a 2:1 honours degree in Media & Cultural Studies gained from Liverpool John Moores University. As well as a higher education diploma in journalism and broadcasting, Mark has City & Guilds certificates in Journalism & Media Techniques (779), Photography (923) and Graphic Design, Reprographics and Printing (517). |
